I have a pet. Her name is Gladys. She eats leaves.
This is not her, and these are NOT my nails, but you get the idea. I will post a picture of her soon. She is a good pet. She is bigger than this one, and she looks more "stick-like."
On my lunch break today, I picked some more ivy leaves for her. These seem to be her favorite. She only eats at night, but it is fun to see how much she devoured while we were sleeping. She's really quiet, and she LOVES my voice. :)
I found a little carrier for her at Tuesday morning, and I've filled it sticks and leaves. She is relatively obedient.
She is a juvenile, but I can't wait until she starts laying eggs. An adult female lays one or two eggs every day. She does not need a male to reproduce. In the wild, males are 1 in 10,000. Indian stick insects are social, so hopefully she will make more stick insects and I can watch them interact.
Photos to be posted soon.
